Looks like torchlight 2 won’t be making onto the xbox 360. Seems there are memory issues. this kinda blows muy mind because the xbox is capable of playing some decent games. I guess the power I’d reduced if the game is an arcade game. It’s a bummer because I swear these games are on the leading edge of jewelry fashion trends for moms . My “brilliant necklace of parenting” adds +5 to leadership and reduces child whining by 10%!
I’ve actually been wanting to play this game- “from dust” by Ubisoft- and play I did. The demo was featured on my xbox dashboard, and I quickly snatched it up. Unfortunately, this demo falls into the same trap as many demos in the past have- it gives too little. You get to play two tutorial levels and the first part of what seems like a real level, though the game is obviously still teaching you things. So basically, the game isn’t really out of the tutorial phase when it cuts you off. I’m not hooked at this point; I’ve had a small taste, and now have a feel for the game engine, but I haven’t seen the fun side of the game. and that’s why we gamers play games, because they are fun. P.S.- we aren’t all that fond of tutorial levels.
From Dust is a god-game of sorts. You have the power to manipulate the landscape. Well, at least you can move sand and water around. rocks seem to be permanent. I don’t know if you can control your villagers like in a sim game, where you might find yourself sending out virtual wedding invitations . I do know that you can focus on a single villager, and you can tell your villagers to go to a certain place on the map, but villager interactions are kept to a minimum in the demo.
The hype video for this game seems so much better- better graphics, more control over the environment, etc. Maybe the full game gives you more power, but it seems pretty basic from what I’ve seen. Also, I expect that the pc version has better graphics.
Here’s the tech demo that got me interested in this game:
This is an awesome fan-film. I was going to write up a post about log furniture, but then I saw this and had to write about it instead. Hey, there’s some wood on the set, so I’m not too far off! the credits list is quite massive on this movie, and there are tons of stunts… mean, besides the plot, this video is basically a show of choreography, acrobatics or other stuntman-type skills anyway. That, and an anemic-looking bat-cycle. Oh yeah, and some high speed filmography. Anyway, I don’t want to ruin it for you, but there’s a killer twist at the end of this vid, and it’s quite good.
