I tried to swap discs in my xbox the other day, and the tray wouldn’t open. It was stuck closed. My xbox doesn’t have one of those ‘emergency open’ holes where you can jam something in to force it open. I ended up prying at the try while pressing the open button. It eventually opened. Then closed. D’oh! Next time I got it opened, I unplugged the xbox and applied white lithium grease to the tracks/gears along the outside edges of the underside of the tray, and in the teeth of the gears that I could see. I accidentally got a little on the belt, so I cleaned that off using a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. The tray seems to be working alright now.

I just don’t care. Seriously… Black ops was so bad… and most of my xbox friends have gotten lives, so they aren’t playing much… Plus, I feel that the FPS genre is getting a bit long in the tooth. It’s just the same ol same ol, and I’m really not feeling it. I’ve generally not been enthusiastic about anything these days, and this may be a side effect.

I think many will agree that Modern warfare 1 was the height of the franchise. I do believe that the game is only going downhill from here. I think a big part of the problem is that they keep adding features… and perhaps less is more. We don’t need all sorts of useless gadgets… heart beat monitors, camera spikes… what’s next, baby monitors ? Also, air support is fully out of control at this point. They need to scale things back and work on creating a level playing field. But hey, that’s just my humble opinion. I only put in 40 days of in game play time in MW1 alone, so maybe I simply don’t know what I’m talking about.

I’ve been itching to play a Fallout game lately, so I finally broke down and re-installed New Vegas. I swear, ever time I play that game, I have to re-install my operating system. Anyway.. seeing as it’s the third time I’ve played the game, I’m kinda cheating. Okay, I’m really cheating… god mode enabled, all map locations unlocked, quick travelling directly to quest locations. And if there are stanchions or rocks or walls in my way, I’m not afraid to turn off clipping. It also allows me to fly away… slowly.

I have to admit, I’m not enjoying the game nearly as much this way. My real goal is to try to do some of the different missions that I keep missing. So far, I really haven’t gotten cozy with any of those factions that I previously missed, but I’m trying. It’s really hard for me to be evil in these games!
