I’m a sucker for LED lights. I don’t know why, I just am… every time I see an LED flashlight on sale, I stand there looking at it , trying to decide whether to buy it or not. In the end, I usually tell myself that I already have an LED flashlight that I’m not using. In this case, I’d probably end up buying this LED Spotlight. I can honestly say that I don’t own a spotlight, and this would be great for checking out problems under the hood after dark.

What geek doesn’t need a power strip? This surge suppressor has ten outlets that are spaced for wall warts, which is nice. The real reason I would buy one of these is because it has an EMI/RFI filter that prevents electromagnetic and radio interference from getting to your equipment, and I like to record music from time to time. At high volume, I can hear noise coming through my equipment. This drives me NUTS! I want my audio to be as clean as possible. This surge protector also can be used on coaxial cables to protect your cable modem, satellite equipment and cable TV. I think that what I really want is a power conditioner- I hear that they can make a world of difference in audio recording, but I also think they’re really expensive. This would be a good alternative with it’s filters.

I’ve been picking up used digital; cameras at estate sales and selling them on ebay… and a card reader like this would come in really handy for testing the cameras. They all use different types of flash memory and I don’t always have the right slot in my multi card reader. The other day, I had a camera that used XD cards, and I had to use my wife’s computer to pull the data off of it. Not the most inconvenient situation, but it would be nice if I could pull the data straight to my computer.
Hit the break for alist of cards that this thing reads!

Ever since I blew out my PCI slot, I’ve been wanting a new computer. My computer just hasn’t been the same since I removed the sound card that occupied that slot… things are a lot more sluggish than they used to be, and even though I think that an OS reinstall would make things flow better, I just know I’ll be happier with a better computer.
That’s where this awesome refurbished computer comes into play. If I’m correct, it’s the exact same model that my wife recently bought, and it is an absolute beast of a personal computer. It has four processors, adding up to something like eight or nine gigahertz or raw power. It also ships with four gigs of ram.
We found this while trying to find a good PC on sale , and it offered the most bang for the buck by a country mile. We had initially only intended on spending $300. We had bought one of those slimline PCs, and we quickly realized that we couldn’t buy PCI cards for it- they simply weren’t available, so we returned the slimline and ended up with the awesome HP Pavilion. We run it in 64 bit mode just because we can, and the computer is incredibly fast and powerful. I would really like to buy one of these to replace my tired old computer, but I just don’t have the dough right now.
